Playing with Fire: Trump’s False Reality

The 2020 Presidential Election

As the nation mourns the 220,000+ Americans that have lost their lives, President Trump looks to reassure his followers that all is well in his universe. Despite testing positive for COVID-19 and being hospitalized earlier this month, he is still surprisingly ignorant about the dangers of the virus. Embodying his typical authoritarian leadership style, he denies reality, listens to no-one and ignores guidelines for the coronavirus at his rallies. By falsely comparing the virus to the common flu, he is deceiving the public and continuing to place the lives of millions of Americans in jeopardy. Sorry, Mr. President, human life is not a pawn to be manipulated!

If this were any other situation, many Americans may have found humor in the way Trump flaunts himself as superior and, in a way, as super-human. But on closer inspection, Americans should be wary. Trump is a 74-year old man who only cares about his self-image. He lies and exaggerates in an effort to revise and save his dismal track record. He has done nothing to help the average American, but praises his tax cuts for the wealthy and makes constant reference to the over-inflated stock market. He tells us to continue living our lives without fear — in order to keep the economy ticking — but does the bare minimum to assure our safety or help mitigate and solve this pandemic. He has no plan, just lies!

America needs someone who is humble and pragmatic to guide a nation that has veered off track. We need a leader that is not too proud to admit when he is wrong, and that fights for everyone and not simply the one percent. We need someone that will advocate for affordable healthcare for all and prioritize education as the means to promoting advancements in our young people. We need a President that will listen to others, and assess what is best — not for himself or his family, but for the American people!

This elected official should follow the Constitution of the United States and cherish the great history that has allowed America to prosper over the last century. America is a great country, and will continue to be a beacon of hope and freedom for many! We just need a leader that will put aside his arrogance and contempt for those that ‘oppose’ him, and admit that he could have done more.

Call-to-Action: Vote for Biden

As President of the United States, Joe Biden will establish policies that will resonate not in the top echelons of society, but for those in the lower and middle classes!
